Wp Admin-Ajax Error 500

How to troubleshoot consistent http error 500

I’m pretty new to nginx and have it set up locally on my computer. When I go to a certain page which is part of a plugin to WordPress I consistently get an ‘error 500 Internal Server Error’. I suspect it’s a problem with my setup but am too ignorant to understand it. Are there any troubleshooting/debugging procedures for nginx that I could use?

Below are logs and configuration. Something that caught my interest is the reference to server:

^local\.(? .+)\.dev$ in the error.log. This is a regex in nginx.conf for the server_name. I didn’t expect it to appear in the regex form outside the config file, but in its parsed form local.site.dev. Could this be the culprit?

The nginx error.log:
2012/09/06 17:38:40 [info] 20493#0: *151 kevent() reported that client prematurely closed connection, so upstream connection is closed too while sending request to upstream, client: 127.0.0.1, server:

^local\.(? .+)\.dev$, request: "POST /wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron=1346945920.0074169635772705078125 HTTP/1.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/tmp/php-fpm.sock:", host: "local.site.dev"
2012/09/06 17:40:47 [info] 20493#0: *179 client prematurely closed connection while reading client request line, client: 127.0.0.1, server:

note: most of the time there’s nothing added to the error.log when the 500 error occurs.

The access.log:

[Resolved] http-error after image upload

Hi, we have a longer queue than usual at the moment, the wait time is around 20 hours, please hold on while we reply to tickets in the order they are opened.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset – a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Since a few hours i get an http-error after an image-upload in the media window (standard post type and custom posts). The error only occurs when wp-types is active. when i deactivate the plugin, the upload works fine.

The server has enough memory and disk quota and the folder permissions a set correctly.

Any Ideas? Thank you.
Jörg

Let me see a print screen of the error. Please attach a image.

The message is just ‘http-Error’. No specification.

However, the image will be uploaded and appears in the "Media"-Section. But is not associated with the Article.

Are wp-types the latest version?

I’m checking. I will need more time to review your ticket and try to resolve it.

I will get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you, Adriano.

I´m really under pressure in this project and need to launch it at the end of the week. I´m considering not to use wp-types and define the custom-post-types by hand in the functions.php. but that would also be a lot of work.

one more info that could be helpful for you:

As you can see in the screenshot of the previous post, the media window doesn´t show any media. when i deactivate wp-types all media is shown.

OH, I forgot to check the console for error messages:

POST (mydomain)/ao_cms/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 500 (Internal Server Error) load-scripts.php:2
POST (mydomain)/ao_cms/wp-admin/async-upload.php 500 (Internal Server Error) load-scripts.php:341
POST (mydomain)/ao_cms/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 500 (Internal Server Error) load-scripts.php:2
POST (mydomain)/ao_cms/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 500 (Internal Server Error) load-scripts.php:2

There seems to be an Error with all the ajax-requests.

I don´t know what happened.

However, media upload is working as expected again. I´m not sure if the problem is really solved by now. I will make some tests to see if the error will appear again. If not, I will close this ticket.

Thank you so far.

Thanks for the information, 500 (Internal Server Error) is the problem, we will solve it. Try these options:

– Disable other plugins and test
– Activate the Twenty Twelve theme and test

I don´t know why, but the Error has disappeared the same way it came: without any known reason. I guess it was caused by some ajax-request that was blocked from server-side.
I hope, I´m save now, but I would feel better, if I knew the cause.

the home of the wordpress wppizza plugin

Stripe Checkout returns Error: Internal Server Error

Installed newest version of wp-pizza and stripe gateway. Website used to have Woocommerce & Stripe before I switched to WPPizza.

Unfortunately I have only access to WordPress.

Error in Console:

StripeCheckout.open: Unrecognized option ‘receipt_email’.
You can learn about the available configuration options in the Checkout docs:
https://stripe.com/docs/checkout
checkUsage @ checkout.js?ver=1.6:2

https://…./wp-admin/admin-ajax.php Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)

I have disabled caching and enabled SSL.

Please assistme, my customer is not happy at all.

you need to find out what the 500 error is and where it comes from (could be absolutely from anywhere)
enable debug and check your debug.log

(the Unrecognized option ‘receipt_email’.is inconsequential )

you have to have access to the server / server logs. a 500 error is a server error
somebody has to enable debug or access to the server logs

this cannot be solved without knowing what the exact error is you get server side

I am cloning the website to my webhost to try and debug there.

Problem is my client has only given me WordPress access, to get FTP Access he would have to contact his old, out-of-business webdesigner.

Can’t clone due to SSL,I forgot.

There is no way around convincing my client that I need FTP to fix it, I guess.

Could’ve been that you knew the error and what might cause it.

>Could’ve been that you knew the error and what might cause it.
no, as nobody else has a stripe error and it might well be caused by something else somewhere else (another plugin, theme, custom coding, php setup ….)

PS: if you use duplicator, you should be able to clone without ssl (if there’s a plugin that forces ssl , just delete it)
https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/

PS stripe does not need SSL in test mode

Thanks for the info, I managed to get access to FTP, and turned on WP_DEBUG

The error log file logs nothing besides:
[24-Feb-2017 14:13:58 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in /XXXXXXX/public_html/wp-config.php on line 103
[24-Feb-2017 14:14:11 UTC] PHP Notice: Constant WP_MEMORY_LIMIT already defined in /XXXXXXX/public_html/wp-config.php on line 103

The payment (in test mode) gets made (green Check appears) then the page gets reloaded and ends in an error (Message-Box: Internal Server Error)

The debug console says:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
